I am passing this on because I can't imagine that too many people know this. What a great thing. Somebody should let the companies know that it needs to be advertised as a feature. I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil or plastic wrap box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time. Well, I would like to share this with you. This was brought to my attention a while back and I couldn't believe it. I turned the plastic wrap on it's side and written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of plastic wrap and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Reynolds wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Glad wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up. I'm sharing this with my friends. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.

Saw this on Ellen one day - I had no idea either. Here it was in front of us all this time. :)
Cindy ~ I didn't know that either! They should make it more visible, because I don't generally look at the side.
Yes I saw a friend do that WOW cool invention ! Have a great successful weekend
Who knew? I am going to the kitchen from here! Thanks - I am constanty battling with it!
It's so funny that we never knew this before, but I'm loving it now! haha
This is so funny...my mom saw the Ellen show and called me all excited. She never knew and wanted to make sure I knew, which I didn't. She suggested I write about it on my blog, and I never did. Now I see your post this morning and just have to send it to my mom. I wonder why it isn't more publicized.
Cindy, you're not the only one that didn't know. You'd think they'd make this more visible? Thanks for sharing! - Kat
Hi Cindy-I did not know that either. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. ;-)
Michelle- I didn't see it on Ellen, my Dad of all people told me about it.
Kathy-I know, I wonder how long it's been on the side and everyone has been oblivious!
Lynn-It's such a simple little task, but a great invention for foil and plastic wrap...LOl!
Sheila-Did you find it? It's even on Store Brand and Generic Brands too.
Georgina-It's the simple things in life that make us so happy sometimes.
Sharon-It's funny that the word is finally getting out.
Kat-Really, put in on the front with arrows pointing to the side or something.
Sharon-Hope it comes in handy, it already has for me. I hate when the foil goes flying across the room!
You just made my day with this one! :)
That is hilarious.... something that has plagued EVERYONE on the planet, but who knew!
Sally, (who used to have trouble with saran wrap falling out)
Now I did not know that.
Annie-I know...it's crazy isn't it?
Sally-I thin think this little jewel should be on CNN...IMHO!
Tony-Well, now you do, hope it makes like a little easier!
