. 2007 Houston/Galveston Hurricane Workshop
Now is the time to get ready for the 2007 hurricane season. In preparation, the Houston/Galveston National Weather Service Office will hold its annual Hurricane Workshop on Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. As always, admission will be free and open to the public. More details coming soon!

. Texas Hurricane Awareness Week is May 20-26, 2007.

. National Hurricane Preparedness Week is May 20-26, 2007.

NOAA has an Historical Hurricane Tracks webpage that allows you to easily search and display more than 150 years (thru the 2005 season) of Atlantic Basin tropical cyclone data.

Of the many threats to residents of Southeast Texas, perhaps the most recognized is the Tropical Cyclone. Below is a list of some information regarding this menace.

.Hurricane Forecasting

While forecasting in itself is hard enough, forecasting hurricanes is by far more difficult. The intrepid Dr. William Gray of Colorado State University endeavors to do so. He and his team of researchers publishes a forecast and an updated forecast every year on what they think is going to happen. Here's the latest from Dr Gray, et al.
