I was doing some work, with the Olympics on in the background, where the USA Men's Volleyball team is playing Venezuela (so far...we are ahead). The commentators just mentioned that Riley Salmon was from League City, TX, I had to rewind the DVR, to make sure I heard that one right. Sure enough he is.
Riley Salmon that wears the #10 jersey, starter and outside hitter for the USA's Mens Volleyball Team calls League City his hometown. He attended Clear Creek High School. He is married with a daughter. He took up volleyball after trying tennis, basketball, and baseball. He was working for General Electric in 1999 when an Italian scout called him and asked him if he would be interested in trying out for a pro volleyball team in Italy. The rest as they say is history. He is now representing the USA!
