As Edouard approaches, the quite before the storm has already begun. The usual tropical sounds from the birds, frogs and insects, have all but dissipated. The noise from nature is usually so loud, you have to talk over it, and forget about using your cell phone outside at night. But tonight, all is eerily quite. Reminiscent of Hurricane Rita. Living just 2 miles from the coast, there is a chance we will get pounded tomorrow, with at least 10" of rain, and right now a predicted 75 mph of wind or more if it turns into a Hurricane. With our bayous all around, Houston floods pretty easily.
I always hold my breath this time of year until the end of Hurricane season, I hope I can exhale this time tomorrow!
Keep everyone on the Gulf Coast in the path of Edouard in your prayers.

Cindy, Our prayers are with you, may you all be kept safe with as little damage as possible!
You are a little bit inland so try and not be too worried. I hope you are well.
You are a little bit inland so try and not be too worried. I hope you are well.
You are in our thoughts as Edouard approaches. Your description reminded me of this poem, called The Mighty Sea. Be safe.
I love to walk beside the sea.
To hear the waves relaxing me.
To walk with God who made us all.
To talk to him who's name I call.
The sea so deep and wide each
wave brings me closer to his side.
In times of storm Gods in control
The wind gets higher and the waves roll.
When I watch the mighty sea
It shows how Gods great strength comes to me.
This great thing that he has made
Teaches me not to be afraid.
For the one who controls the sea
is the one who cares for me
So when I walk along the shore
I don't have to worry any more.
And when I watch the big waves roll
I find such peace in my soul.
Tony & Darcy-Well, it looks like it was just alot of wind and rain, no damage.
Sabrina-No, I actually live about 2 miles from the gulf, so we are always in the path.
Phylis-It's true, when you look at the water and realize how large it is, it really does make you feel like a grain of sand. Hard to fathom how big God really is!
Cindy, I hope that you did not suffer any damage to your area. If you can do send ED over to the Hill Country we need the rain and I don't think 10 inches would be too much.
Howdy Cindy
I'll be keepen good thoughts for Y'all in the Gulf Coast area!
