From Bachelor Look To Transitional Look

A Bachelor bought this starter home as an investment.  He painted the wall in the Family room to his liking.  He decided he didn't want to live in the suburbs anymore, and wanted to move closer to downtown in some lofts.  I had him replace the carpet, paint, change out light fixtures, and do a total staging package.  His goal was to sell it in 30 days.  He sold it in 3 weeks!

CB,

Can we share the purchase price and sale price?

Staging this home seems to have been what the Doctor ordered...

Staging does seem to lower the time on the market and help to get a better price.

Another success Cindy!  Your staging brought a more sophisticated feel to the space.  Appealing to more buyers.  Nicely done!

Love the idea of staging. wonderful concept and yes it does help sale the home BUT MY BIG BUT is what after all the expense, the house doesn't sale  now your client is at odds with the agent for the suggestion.

Anything negative that happens to our client ( and yes they do value and ask what our opinions are )

lands back in our laps.

Cindy ~ It looks great.  The fireplace was lost in the "before" picture.

Resistance is futile. Staging works!  :)

You gotta love working with those bachelors, you can't help but get great "after" results.  My experiences have found that most of them don't like the staging process, but tolerate it because they understand its necessary - then when I'm done, I've never had one not be happy with the results.  Good job on making the house look fantastic - some paint job - huh?

I'm soooo cracking up because we are still using my husband's bachelor black leather furniture (10 years later).  It just won't wear out...proven by 7 years of kid and dog abuse.  Once the kids are a bit older...we may find a "mysterious" tear in it.  Oh darn.  ;)

Cindy,

Great transformation! Congratulations on a quick sale.  I love how you gave the fireplace back its job of being the focal point for this living room!  With all that patchwork paint, I think I would want to move to the city too! =)

I didn't even really notice the fireplace before.  You really highlighted it and opened up the room.  Great job.

Penny-Yeah, I actually liked it, it would be great in his new loft.

Scott-Yes, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Sheila-I believe it does, there are just too many not staged that have been sitting for months.

Michelle-It was a family starter home, that wouldn't have appealed to many.

I do have to say that I like the painting on the wall, but it was in the wrong place.  Nice job!

Awesome job, Cindy!  Congratulations on a quick sale!  By painting over the accent wall so much more attention can be given to the fireplace. It's looks great.
