Generic Copy & Paste Comments

After reading Is it Rude to Have Your Wesite Link On Your Comments by Ken Tracy, I remembered a while back when I got a comment from someone that seemed to be very genuine, well thought out and kind.  I happened to be commenting on another post when I noticed that the last comment had been made by the same person that had left his comment on mine.  Funny thing was...It was the exact same comment he'd left on mine.  These were two different posts, on two differnet topics on two different blogs.  Do people have a generic list of comments they paste into posts?  Who would have thought someone would do this.  Kinda shallow, I think.  As, I posted in Ken's comments, the sad part was, the person that he left the comment for replied and said his comment had made her day!

Wow! It never occurred to me to do that. Interesting how some people approach this. Hopefully there are enough people making good genuine comments that the lazy or bogus ones can just fall by the wayside.

Humm, maybe this same person has a one way fits all in their R.E. business... I like to thik each reply is actually personlized instead of just about posting points

I've seen the same thing happen.  It's a shame.  However, it is a step higher than those who leave their business card in their comment!

Now that's a bit crazy, but it doesn't surprise me. Is kind of funny though, in a sad way. Maybe we should develop a generic list of AR comments for all to use and enjoy! Include in helpful tips and tricks.

If you go to the newbies posts you find this on almost every post and group of 5 or 6 bloggers that copy and paste the same comment and the same links to their site for every new agent. Very rude and unprofessional if you ask me, I wrote a post on it awhile back and I lost some of those copy and paste people as subscribers, I guess they recognized themselves.

I guess there are some very lazy people here in the Rain? The point of being here is to make a contribution - and not just to rack up points!

Cindy:  I am guessing that someone silly enough to post the exact same comment on different posts... really has no clue what Active Rain is all about... and will soon disappear.

That is a shame to hear that this has and is happening, very thoughtless responses, not quite in the spirit of ActiveRain.

What may be construed as "thoughtless," may be an effort to be time efficient.  Some comments can defer from a word or two, but if copying and pasting helps from retyping what you were going to write anyway, than I'm OK with that.  The point is not why we comment, but that the posts are read.  Just an afterthought.  Lu

After seeing some evidence of this myself, I've sometimes wondered if there's a mysterious utility out there ... the "robo-post, auto-commentor 2000". :-)

To all thanks for all your comments, I appreciate them, I think everyone is on the same page with their thougths on this.  Who would have thought?

I've never seen anyone leave a business card in their comment section before.  That is tacky too!

Jennifer-Yes, I've seen people do that, with all of their info. listed. I think sometimes they do it, to get to a word count of 10 on the comments.
