The Power Of Power Washing

With Spring here, so are the remains of winter, especially in the coastal areas.  When there's rain, moisture, and humidity there's mold and mildew.  Just one of the many improvements to make when selling your home or staying in your home is power washing.  Power washing is becoming a yearly ritual it seems, and what a difference it makes.  It not only looks cleaner, but is better for your health especially if your allergic to mold and mildew.  The mold can be tracked into your home getting into your carpet, not something you want to have happen. You can pick up a power washer for as low as $70 on up.  It's more of a time consuming thing than anything.  If time's a problem, then hire it done, for a relatively low fee.  Don't stop with your concrete, get your fence, house, foundation, patio furniture, rocks or stones around flowerbeds done too.

Cindy, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words and this post would be one of those times.

Power washing is an awesome outdoor cleaning tool! I used this last year on weathered cedar siding - it took away the gray and made the wood look new. You have to be cautious however, because it also takes paint off!

I'll tell you... if you are going to do a lot of power washing... driveway, sidewalk, etc.  You might be better off renting a real one for the day.  It will go WAY faster with a bigger power washer.  I have a little one, and it takes two days to do a driveway.  I can get one of the mac-daddy units and get done in a morning.  Well worth the cost of rental.

Power washing is wonderful.  I love the look of concrete when it has been washed.  It looks new.  We do see so many houses that need washing.

Lane I agree, I used to do this for a living and 2,000 psi GAS power washer is the way to go.  Most paint stores will rent them or you can buy one at home depot for @ $600.00.  I still have mine they will last forever!

I loan my powerwasher out to my sellers and they love it. I have a Craftsman and it was worth every penny. I have a feeling that after some of my clients borrow mine they run out and buy one.

Hi Cindy,   I bought my husband a power washer for his birthday a few years ago and it has been the best tool he has ever had.  The last thing he washed was wooden benches, made them look brand new.  It's great for everything.  Just gotta be careful it's not too powerful for the item you are washing or you can damage the surface.  We love ours.

Cindy, wow!! We don't have the weather you do, but I think this sounds really cool to blow all of that dust away we accumulate here in the desert. Good post!

Cindy, great post!  I have used a couple different kinds myself. The larger more powerful units are definately more efficient, but they can also cause a lot of damage if the user is not cautious.  Great on the exterior of the home but watch the screens they will rip them.

My husband rents one every spring & sets the kids to work on the exterior of the house, the deck, the walk... it really makes a huge difference.
