Fishy first impression when selling your home. This Houston home went through a home stagin transformation before being listed. The seller was ready to make the necessary changes, since the house had been on the market for about a year. Redesign Etc. added furniture and accessories and the seller bought a few new pieces that could be used in their new home. I will post photos in a later post, but I wanted to share the first impression when you walked in the front door. A huge blue Marlin greeted potential buyers. The fish was the focal point, not what you want when selling. The seller was really great about removing their items, they did however decide to keep the niches the burgundy color.

I LOVE THE FISH!!!
HA! Of course the fish had to go. Anyone looking at that magnificent mount would never see the fabulous view down the hallway that looks like it spans about 40 feet. Few folks understand the value of "long visuals" in floor plans.
I STILL LOVE THE FISH!!
Put it in rec room.
Cindy- Yep... much as I love to fish... it had to go. What a huge difference it made.
Much improved. Wow! That was some fish. They don't make 'em like that up this way.
I LOVE the Marlin! I have a design client that has one mounted over their garage doors - looks super!
Cindy ~ No wonder this home had been on the market for so long ... that fish did nothing to enhance the entry and first impression. Looking forward to seeing more photos!
At least your fish is facing up and away...I had a home where the fish was on the wall immediately to the right of the door in the foyer and it's "sword" was facing you as you entered. Wish I had a picture, but I don't.
Is there any Feng Shui with fish in decorations! What a difference your work makes
That fish had to go.
What a fish Cindy, I guess it's a step above a giant deer head LOL. Glad you were able to get your way:) Changes look really nice.
