Selling Your Home? Have a Yard Sale (Video)

Thinking about selling your home? First call a home stager and let them recommend what should be edited and what should be kept. Then plan on having a yard sale one weekend. This video has some great tips for having a yard sale. I don't know about the ribbons around the silverware though...I guess if you have the time. I would also add to have bags of miscellaneous items and sell the whole bag for a set price. If you're getting ready to sell your home, you don't want to bring things back into your house. If items don't sell, donate them to Goodwill, a church or a crisis center that takes donations. It's not only for a good cause, but it will make you feel better, and make your house look larger!

Great Post Cindy, I especially like your thought of donating any unsold items to charity.

Thanks Chris, I've got a load of items to go to Goodwill myself. There are alot of other organizations that will accept and even pick-up items from your house, you can find them online.

What a cute video, Cindy!  Ribbons on the  flatware DOES work; it's an old antique dealer trick - I've done it with serving pieces too.  Julie

Very good videio: I too am unsure about ribbons on stemware - it IS a garage sale after all, but hey. Good tips and will put a few bucks into the Sellers pocket also. (Maybe enough $ to paint those dark kitchen cabinets ;)

Nice video!  Our city has strict rules now on signs for garage sales and charges I believe $75 for a permit to allow the signs & the sale.  THEN you have to ask the people whose yards you'd like the signs in (if not yours) for permission to post your sign there. THEN you'd better remove those signs in a timely manner or risk getting fined for the signs left behind.  It's a bit much.  Needless to say I haven't had a garage sale since moving here but did at least 5 times when I lived in FL.  I wonder too if all the residents know this as it's only been in the past few years that they've started this.

Thanks for all of your comments, it's a very basic video, but cute, and has some good points.  Community garages sales can be great, but I never seem to be home that weekend, so I just have to take things to Goodwill.
