Need an instant makeover of your sofa, chairs, carpet, or car's interior? Well, here it is...Simply Spray.
Have you heard of this one? A spray paint that can change the color of an old sofa. I'm not sure of the details of what kind of fabrics this can be used on or how well it wears, or the coverage, but none the less an interesting concept.
If it does work, I could see that this would be a great solution for some, especially, if a new sofa and chairs are not in the budget right now.
It's suppose to work on material that absorbs water, including carpets and car interiors. Non toxic, and safe to use indoors. It's also suppose to leave fabric feeling soft not stiff, and one can covers 17 square feet.
May have to give this one a try!

Sounds like a great idea...guess I would practice on material I didn't care about first...is there an undercoat available in case you want to go dark to light and don't want the color to bleed thu ? Suppose you could make your own pattern as well spraying around stripes...etc...
OK Cindy -- you try it and then report back to us!! If the results are good it could come in really handy for staging.
Who is going to be the first to try this product?? I am anxious to know how it works. My daughter could use this for her kitchen chairs with 3 little boys.
Hi Cindy,
How'd you come across this one? I haven't tried it... in fact can't recall that I've even seen it, but I will say I have seen plenty of pieces over the years of staging that I would have loved to have sprayed with it! ;o)
Cindy - Interesting find! I can't wait to hear from someone that has used it or is brave enough to try it! Thanks for sharing your find.
Who is brave enough to try this one out? Please let me know if it works and if it transfers the color onto your pants when you then sit on it. If it works, I am sure it will definitly make it into the stagers world.
Where did you find this product and where can I buy it? I would almost be willing to buy a cheap used sofa to try it out!
People have been spray painting fixtures and wicker furniture for years. Match this with the stainless steel paint for the refrigerator and no need to warehouse mountains of furniture as you will be able to paint everything...literally.
If this works, what a fabulous tool for stagers!! Can't wait to hear results!
I wonder if it will work on my old truck seats? They could use it for sure.LOL
Cindy, you are just so great in sharing with us about these new products! I wish I had this last year with an atrocious patterned sofa in one of my listings. Where can we get this product?
Curious to see if it actually works. What kind of coverage and if the color lifts off at all?
Really curious how well this works, I can think of several pieces that this could be used on! Looks like there aren't many color choices though.
Hi - I work with Simply Spray on projects for media....we never thought of all the great uses for professional stagers, so glad you found Simply Spray, Cindy!
A few tips in response to questions posted. Simply Spray is for all absorbent materials and works great on upholstery, lampshades, pillows, chair covers, car/boat interior etc. Because it absorbs into the material, it stays soft to the touch. It absorbs and doesn't coat over fabrics so you cannot go from a dark color to a lighter one.
Once dry, it will not rub off on materials, it's permanent (we've had a lot of people ask about sitting on painted couches with white pants, totally safe once dry). The Upholstery Fabric Spray is new and will be available in some retailers this spring (Michaels, Joanne etc), in the meantime it can be purchased online at spraypaint4fabric.com. The color options will expand, but there are nine colors to choose from right now, msrp is $12.99/can. You can visit the Simply Spray site for tip on use and demos, www.SimplySpray.com.
Hope this helps, we'd love to hear your experiences using it!
Sally & David-True, I guess you could make patterns, great idea.
Maureen-I'm trying to think of things I could use it one!
Michelle-I was looking at something else, and saw it by accident.
Shelley-Surely someone will try it and give us their feedback.
Birgit-It's a better idea than getting rid of something, just paint it!
Donna-It seems that you can buy it on their website, but expanding to Joannes and Michael's soon.
James-It's worth a try, especially something that doesn't get used.
Kim-You can paint just just about anything now, so it will probably work pretty well.
Trey-They say it does, go for it!
Jane-I'm not sure of stores have it, looks like website only, but will be available in Michael's, Joannes in future.
Michele-Elizabeth above says it won't.
Kulli-It looks like it come in 9 colors but expanding soon.
Elizabeth-Thanks for stopping by an answering everyone's questions. It sounds like you have some eager people that want to try. It sounds like a great product.
