Makeover Shows on TV...What's Your Take?

How do you rate the shows on TV that do makeovers, redesigns, renovations, and redecorating other peoples homes all in 30 minutes, or it would appear on TV.  Some actually do give a real time frame, and I think that's important for viewers to know.  These aren't for homeowners that have huge budgets, but people that are usually DIY'ers.

Got a favorite?  Reality?  Informative?   Confusion?  What's your opinion?  Better yet, do you watch any of these shows?

7)  HGTV Get Color - Premise is to show you how to use color from a color wheel with examples of actual items to see what you're drawn to.

8)  Style Network: Dress My Nest with Thom - Premise is to use upscale homes and create sophisticated rooms in 2 to 4 days.

Okay, I'll come out of the closest . . . I don't watch HGTV.  I know, what kind of stager am I?

I have a few favorites that I'll turn on occasionally.  The one I like most is the small segment in Design on a Dime where they redecorate using things the owner already has in a new way.

Hi Cindy,

I have high blood pressure so I don't do HGTV so much anymore.

I am now addicted to cooking shows when I have time and Flip This House, That Armando guy is somethin!

Cindy, I really don't watch to much HGTV after starting my business. HGTV was the only channel that I watched before, because I LOVED all the decorating shows. But I just don't have time anymore. I do record the staging shows and watch them, but I'm always behind.

Cindy, I watch Designed to Sell, The Stagers and just started Stager Invasion. I generally skip to the end to just get the before & afters. I stopped watching Sell This House after having watched it for many years. I got tired of it. I like the shows but wish they would give more realistic prices for Staging since they all include FREE LABOR! :)

I am an out of the closet, former addict.  I too, have little time anymore, but I USED to love Decorating Cents, with a $500 budget, and Freestyle, with NO BUDGET!  When more and more staging shows  came along, I found myself more and more frustrated, as very few markets are like the ones featured in Canada and California, so I quit, cold turkey...now it is Design Star...which carries its own level of frustration...=o/
