Does Home Staging Really Sell Houses?

There are a glut of houses still on the market, at least in the Houston area.  Several on each street, not like the days of old, where the sellers had an easier time because the competition was not as fierce.  Today, with foreclosures, new homes, incentives, and allowances the buyers market has never looked better.  Sellers can almost pick and choose and negotiate their price.  Great for the buyer, not so great for the seller.  And with all this in mind, sellers still are wondering what they can do to get their house sold.  And unfortunately, it is in the form of a price reduction, or maybe the second or third price reduction.

If houses are in the proper condition, and priced competitively with comps around them they are selling faster after they have been properly staged.  How do I know this?  Because, the homes we stage are selling anywhere between 24 hours to 3 months, after they had been on the market for months or even longer than a year.

We work with the home seller that have their own furnishings or with sellers that have vacant homes.  If you have already moved on and live out of town, your house is going to show it, and buyers are going to know it.

You may only need a home staging consultation.   After they have been implemented many homes have had offers immediately.  Talk about a small investment, it usually starts around $150.

Can you afford not to give it try, we will give you our honest opinion and work with you on helping you to sell your biggest investment.

Yes, home staging does help sell homes.  I've seen it happen in my market.

I just had a staged home sell in 8 days. The Realtor called to say "I do not think it would have ever sold without you input and staging"

Staging Works!  I just staged a home that had been on the market for 60 days.  It sold within a week of staging.  The seller had 2 offers and is now searching for her new home.

Howdy there Cindy

I'd sure like to see home seller's start to use home stagers, right in my little ole area. I have not Inspected one home right here that has. Not only does it help to sale a home faster, when a home is staged, it also helps when it comes to Inspection day.

Morning Cindy, Yep they are definitely selling here as long as they meet all criteria you so wisely stated in your post. Now where I live the closer to the city of Atlanta they move even faster.

Price, condition, location and presentation today's seller has be on their toes and serious about selling.

I will agree that sometimes it doesn't take a whole lot to just clean things up a little .  You guys give great advise. I wish more sellers would listen!

Michael-Thanks for your comment, I agree!

Laurie-Those are great stats especially in this economy!

Cathy-8 days, that's fantastic for everyone all around!

Shawna-It does work, we just have to keep getting the word out there.

Dale-Thanks, I'm sure it does make it easier, a good testament that you noticed a house was staged.

Cynthia-That's great, houses are picking up in alot of areas.  But yes price, condition and presentation have to be met as well.

Carole-That's true here too.  More people want a move-in ready home.

Trey-I think alot of sellers are getting the decluttering and cleaning part, but everything else that is involved.
