Some experts weigh in:
April 23, 2009, Manhattan Real estate entrepreneur Barbara Corcoran said fixing up your home, or "staging" it, as the real estate business calls it, can raise your selling price anywhere from five to 20 percent.

Matthew Finlason, a home stager for HGTV's new weekly program "The Stagers,"
which had its premiere on July 20, said a successful stager will view the home
"through the buyer's eye." "When a buyer walks into a place, you have to show him
the optimal furniture arrangement, the optimal placement of wall hangings, lighting
and art," Mr. Finlason said. "So once I get the keys to the place, the homeowner's
tastes are completely removed from the process."

1. Failing to Showcase Your Home and Making Small Cosmetic Changes

Cindy ~ The experts know what they're talking about! In today's challenging real estate market, staging is becoming more and more important as a marketing tool. Almost every home can benefit from some level of staging. Glad to see that so many experts are weighing in on this powerful benefit for homeowners and their agents.
No news to us-yes, staging sells homes and adds value!! Thanks for bringing more attention to the statistics Cindy!
Cindy,
There can never be enough mentioned about the benefits of Professional Home Staging. Everyone details their car before they sell it so they can get top dollar...can't see why everyone doesn't Stage their largest investment, their home!!! Thanks for the post...the more we put it out there the sooner it will be just the norm to Stage!!!
Thx, Cindy -- this is great info to update our web sites with verses some of the old stuff still out there!
Hi Cindy, I especially like Barbara Corcoran and try to catch her segments on the Today Show whenever I can. Thanks for putting all this info in one post! I find that with all the recent media attention on staging, I rarely need to explain what staging anymore when people ask what I do for work.
Cindy, thanks for giving us this info. Hope your doing well....
Maureen-That's so true I have 3 houses that have sold this week, I'm wondering what I'm going to do with all the stuff coming back...yikes!
Cathy-I think we'll be preaching it till were blue in the face, but eventually it be the standard.
Linda-We get it, and know it works, it doesn't have to cost a fortune, and yes everyone should be doing it. Polish and shine and stage that house and see how fast it sells.
Karen-I know, If anyone knows of any others please post!
Diana-I know, I'm reading one of her books, and she has quite an amazing story. Does she look like Candice Olson for HGTV or what?
Gary-Hey, I got your email, but can't find it?? I will email you.
I Completely agree staging WORKS!!
Thanks Tammy, I happen to agree!
