Home Staging is not Decorating

Home Staging is often confused with decorating, when in fact, it is the opposite.

Decorating is specifically designed for homeowners tastes.  It is very personalized, and reflective of what the owner loves and enjoys being around.  It is using colors and personalizing a home.  Being able to be bold with your choices if you want.  Decorating is client specific, and for your tastes and not someone else's.

Home Staging is not what the homeowners likes are, it's what the home buyers in your market area want.  It's all about depersonalizing and neutralizing a space without giving it a sterile cold look.  A staged home should have a warm and inviting feel that has a buyer saying, "I love this house."  Staging has to transform the owners home into a desirable product that buyers want.  It is merchandising and marketing  a house to potential buyers.
